Slide Mountain

Hello again! Sorry for the LONG hiatus in the blog. I hiked Slide Mt a few weeks ago. It's the tallest/highest peak in all the Catskills. That being said, I expected a more exciting hike. It was relatively uneventful except for all the water. I felt like I was hiking in a creek bed the entire time; even had to take my shoes off twice, (and carry Stanley), to cross what should have been a stream but had turned into a river after the previous few days of heavy rain. This mountain was the only one to date that actually had a marked summit with quite the view. Most of these peaks don't have the summit marked. You just know you are at the top (or assume you are) when you start going downhill for a while. It can be rather frustrating. All-in-all, good hike, glad I conquered the ""big one", but not one of my favorites.
